training center

The Mediterranean meeting point for ocean sailors.

Since 2015, guided by the vision of Anna Corbella, we have been preparing sailors to turn the challenge of Crossing the Atlantic into the adventure of a lifetime.

Your journey beyond the horizon!

Sailors from across the globe chose Base Mini Barcelona as their training ground, creating a uniquely enriching, demanding, and collaborative environment.

The model speaks for itself, year after year, more sailors trained here earn their place in the Mini-Transat Race.

Today, Base Mini Barcelona stands as the largest Mini training center outside France.

A clear example of this success came in 2023, when Federico Waksman won the Mini Transat, followed closely by Catalan sailor Carlos Manera in second place, a remarkable achievement that confirms the Catalan coast as an ideal setting for offshore racing preparation.

Barcelona International Sailing Center

The Base offers a fully equipped training center with Moorings, Workshops, Briefing Rooms, Gym and a Social Area.

Every space is designed to train, repair, and connect with fellow sailors.

Barcelona

An Unparalleled Destination for Ocean Sailing Training

Its privileged location on the Mediterranean coast offers sailors the perfect balance: a wide variety of wind and sea conditions, mild weather that allows year-round practice, and access to world-class maritime facilities.

From short coastal sessions to demanding offshore routes, the Catalan capital provides an exceptional natural laboratory where sailors can gain experience, build confidence, and prepare for the challenges of the Atlantic.

Beyond the water, the city’s vibrant sailing community, cutting-edge infrastructure, and strong nautical tradition make Barcelona the ideal place to train, connect, and grow as an ocean sailor.

The Base Mini Barcelona is also deeply committed to outreach and community engagement. Our sailors participate in the educational program “22 Days with 22 Feet”, promoted by the Barcelona Capital Nàutica Foundation and the Maritime Museum, which brings ocean sailing closer to young people through activities in schools.

The Woman Who Leads the Way

Anna Corbella

The first Spanish woman to sail around the world non-stop in regatta needs little introduction, and for Base Mini Barcelona, Anna is truly someone special.

After two Mini campaigns and round-the-world races, she founded Base Mini Barcelona, where she shares her love and enthusiasm for the Mini Class with generations of sailors.

Always ready to support all kinds of Mini projects, from the most modest to championship winners, her words of encouragement, maneuvering tips, and experience-based advice are never in short supply.
