520 - Gintonic
María Auxiliadora Roselló Hernández
Auxi is a person who radiates joy, fun and warmth - it is impossible not to like her. She got interested in the Minis and contacted the Catalan sailor of the year 2023, Carlos Manera, who‘s also a Minista. As you can tell, Auxi is not a shy person and likes efficiency. One thing then led to another and now Auxi trains at Base Mini with her boat Gintonic. She‘s known for her entertaining and genuine social media content, where she takes her followers on a journey to discover Mini sailing from scratch. Her signature introduction: Hello amiguitos!
544 - Silly Walk
Geert Schouten
The inhabitants of Base Mini know that Geert Schouten is always making jokes - an attribute that is also reflected in the name of his boat: Silly Walk. He is an optimist of the ocean and of life. They say that Geert did not even leave the helm during a race in open waters with the Spi-Max up, even though he was really sick, poisoned by a bocadillo gone bad. A regatta is one thing and a stomach ache is another. Geert is calm personified. Even if his boat broaches in heavy weather and lays flat on the side with the sails flogging in the wind, Geert would finish preparing his coffee inside the boat before bringing it back on course again.
766 - Pik
Martin Schneebacher
.
860 - Sea Fever
Gráinne Costigan
Gráinne makes things happen. Super resilient and optimistic, she doesn’t go through life with fear. She is a passionate sailor and a scientist at heart and body. She studied physics and astronomy, living in various places around Europe while earning her PhD and working as an astronomer, before settling in Barcelona to work as a data scientist. There, she discovered the Base Mini, bought her own boat without ever having sailed a mini and hasn't looked back since. Gráinne and her beloved boat "Sea Fever" have the Atlantic on their radar. She will be the first Irish woman on a Mini class sailboat to cross the ocean solo. And she'll do it with a smile.
912 - Like Crazy
Enrico Ser-Giacomi
Enrico got into sailing when he was just 4, messing around on Lake Trasimeno in Italy. Since then, he’s spent plenty of time cruising and racing on all sorts of boats, from Olympic classes to one-designs.
In 2023, he headed offshore with LIKECRAZY, a Pogo 3 he co-owns. When he’s not on the water, he’s a scientist—trained as a theoretical physicist, now diving into geophysical fluid dynamics—living and working in Mallorca.
928 - Suricate
Tomás Ruiz
Tomás is a witty guy with a sophisticated sense of humour. He cannot do things at 100%, it is simply impossible: his self-demand forces him to do everything at 120% or more. He studied Naval Architecture at Solent University in the UK and is now Chief Technology Officer at D3, a naval engineering and innovation company. He worked for the American Magic and Alinghi Red Bull Team in the 36th and 37th America's Cup and in his Linkedin profile he only needed three words to introduce himself: “I like sailboats”.
931 - Gínjol
Felip Moll
After successfully participating in the Mini Transat 2021 with a Pogo 2, Felip changed to his prototype Gínjol, which is pictured in the background. Prototypes are very demanding, technical boats. A good match with Felip, who loves to dive into technical issues, analyze, compare and find solutions. Luckily he likes to share his knowledge. From general strategic decisions, to the smallest technical details, Felip will provide generous guidance - no matter the time of the day. Felip is one of the longest active members of Base Mini and thanks to his balearic origin, he earned the nickname "Prince of Menorca".
1035 - Amuitz
Ramón Ribera
Ramón Ribera began sailing Optimists in the Basque Country, the first step in a lifelong dedication to the sea and a life full of adventure. With his boat Sames Company, he has logged more than 6,000 miles in official regattas - testament to his commitment and to his dream of reaching the start line of the Mini Transat. At BASE MINI Barcelona, everyone knows Ramón for his generosity, open spirit - and for being the group’s pirate. Always ready to lend a hand, find a solution, or share a story, he brings energy and character to the dock.On the water, Ramón is a fierce competitor, always pushing hard for an edge. Yet he never leaves a fellow sailor behind: he’s there to encourage, to lift the sport, and to promise a shared beer when the racing is done.
1047 - Pachamama
Joan Trenchs
Positivity and elegance are keywords that much perfecttly with Joan. As much a surfer as a sailor, he doesn’t seem to know anger as a state of mind. He really does have his stuff together, whether on land or on the water. If optimism is an essential key to achieving great goals, Joan is the best inspiration for everyone. Day after day, week after week, his knowledge and nautical experience grow, heading towards the great goal, racing the Mini Transat in 2025 on his boat, the Pachamama.
1027 - Nona
Cedric Widmer
Cédric started his project with an older series boat and later won the competition for La Nona, a Mini 6.50 prototype loaned to the Catalan Sailing Federation to promote sports sailing in the Mini Class. Since then, the project got a lot more demanding, but that didn't change his attitude of how to tackle this challenge. “I don't like to do things in a hurry, plus, a solo-offshore-sailing project is very demanding. That is why I advance taking small steps each time.” In his parallel life in Switzerland Cédric works as a freelance photographer in Switzerland.
1125 - Muriel
Thomas Woithe
Thomas began sailing regattas in the Optmist and then developed through different boat classes. As a sailor, he won races in Northern Europe, 1000 miles long, until just before the Arctic Circle and then began sailing and racing Mini 6.50
